Batik is a suitable medium for many special needs children; painting on bright colours is a very captivating and enjoyable process. The Batik on the left was made by students at The Shrubberies Special school in Stonehouse.
Shadow Workshops

For severe Autistic children and children with limited co-ordination, Shadow Workshops are extremely successful. I use an overhead projector and a whole array of transparent materials, which the pupils can explore.
Here is what one school had to say about our shadow workshops:
" We all enjoyed your visit very much, and the children had a wonderful time exploring the vast range of materials you provided. It is often very difficult to ‘pitch’ at the right level for our youngsters, but I think that you got it ‘just right’."

Battledown Early Years School

Phoenix rising from the ashes
I've worked with Battledown Early Years School and with the parents of the children who attend the school. The project illustrated above was to celebrate the school staying open last year, and was designed and created by a group of extremely talented parents.
